Teknion is a leading international designer, manufacturer and marketer of office systems and related office furniture products. The company headquarters in Toronto employs more than 3,200 employees, and operates in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta in Canada and in the U.S., U.K., Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific Rim, serving clients through a worldwide network of authorized dealers.

Scott joined Teknion in 1999 to lead in one of the corporation’s largest business units as Vice President and General Manager responsible for organizational transformation and direction of the design and development of a new line of products.

In 2002 Scott was given the additional responsibility of guiding the corporation’s strategic environmental focus. Reporting to the CEO, Scott served as the chairman of the Environmental Steering Team. Following the development and execution of the company’s initial Environmental Charter in 2004, Scott was named Teknion’s first Vice President of Sustainable Development. In this role Scott served as the corporate representative to Excel (a learning partnership of major Canadian corporations committed to sustainable development). He also served as the BIFMA (Business and Institutional Furniture’s Manufacturing Association) representative to the USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) and sits on the LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) committee.

In 2005 Scott was asked by the CaGBC (Canadian Green Building Council) to serve as a core committee member and supported the design and implementation of LEED CI (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Commercial Interiors) into Canada.

In 2006 Scott was named Senior Vice President of Design, Marketing & Sustainable Development and serves as an Executive Committee Member. As Senior Vice President, Scott is responsible for worldwide product design and corporate marketing. He also continues to lead the corporation’s strategic focus on the environment.

Through his environmental leadership, Teknion has been recognized by the Globe Foundation in 2007 winning the Globe Environmental Award for Environmental Excellence, by the Recycling Council of Ontario with their Gold Award in 2008 and their Platinum Award in 2009. Teknion was also recognized in 2009 by the U.S. Government Goods & Services Administration (GSA) with the Evergreen and most recently by the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment Award for Pollution Prevention.

As of May 2011 Scott will assume the new role of Chief Sales Officer for North America where he will focus primarily on maintaining and developing Teknion’s key client relationships and helping to evolve the company’s long-term strategy, especially in the area of acquisitions and joint ventures.
